Introducing Gabriela Checo
Originally from the Dominican Republic, Gabriela started dancing at the age of 3 with Doris Infantes and later she joined the National Ballet School of Dominican Republic (ENDANZA) in 2015.
Gabriela received her Degree in Classical Dance Pedagogy, graduating in 2019 from Instituto Universitario de Danza Alicia Alonso, King Juan Carlos University, Madrid, Spain.
She has performed classical roles such as Myrtha the Queen of Willis in „Giselle”, The Sugar Plum Fairy and The Snow Queen in „The Nutcracker”, and also roles in „Raymonda”, „La Sylphide” pas de deux, „La fille mal gardée” and „Coppelia”. Gabriela was a guest artist at XXIII International Gala of Dance of San Sebastián, Spain.
She joined Sibiu Ballet Theatre in 2019 where she has participated as a corps the ballet in the productions of the „Swan Lake”, „La fille mal gardeé” and „The Nutcracker” where she also represented Butterfly and soloist of Chinese Dance in „The Nutcracker”. She has also worked on different pieces of the repertoire of the company, Ballet Galas being as well part of the production of „Barococo Party” by Sergiu Anghel.
