Introducing Kaito Sekino

Born in Ibaraki, Japan, Kaito started ballet at the age of five after seeing his older sister dance and loving music.
Kaito moved to Germany and completed his professional training at the State Ballet School Berlin, and after dancing with the Staatsballett Berlin in their production of Nacho Duato’s The Nutcracker, Kaito decided to accept a contract with the Ballet National de Marseille and then moving on to Teatrul de Balet Sibiu.

Career highlights include, Russian dance, The Nutcracker (Nacho Duato), dancer in All long dem day (Marco Goecke).
Kaito was the 1st prize winner at the Youth American Grand Prix in Japan and went on to be a finalist in the New York YAGP finals. He also won 1st prize at the Tanzolymp State Ballet Competition and 1st prize at the Kiev Ballet Competition. He has also modelled as a ballet dancer for magazines.

Since joining Teatrul de Balet Sibiu Kaito has performed soloists roles such as the Golden Idol, in La Bayadere, The Nutcracker Prince, in The Nutcracker, and guested at the International Ballet Gala, Sibiu, dancing pas de deux from Flower Festival in Genzano.

Kaito loves riding by bike, watching movies, listen to music. He can speak Japanese, English and some German.
