Introducing Natalie Barbis

Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Natalie began ballet after previously training in gymnastics. Natalie trained at the Ballet Theatre Australia and the Russian Choreographic Academy after which she left her homeland for Germany to study at the Akademie des Tanzes Mannheim.

She was a Finalist 2012 and the Special Mention Prize 2015 at the Ballet Teachers Workshop Australia and accepted to the Bolshoi Ballet Academy Summer Intensive 2015 and furthermore accepted to study full time at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow.

Natalie joined Sibiu Ballet Theatre and has since toured with the company to Italy and France, dancing in „Swan Lake”, „Paquita” and „Don Quixote”, and to South Korea and Luxembourg performing „The Nutcracker” and „Swan Lake”.

Natalie was also a guest artist touring with Schloss + Partner GmbH, Salzburg to perform with the United Dance Company „Colors of Dance” tour within Germany and Austria.

Her career highlights include dancing Aurora in „Sleeping Beauty”, Lilac Fairy Prologue Variation in Gala de Balet, Pas de Trois in „Straussiana” and Soloist Pas de deux in „Masquerade Waltz”, Arabian pas de deux in „The Nutcracker”, soloist in „Bolero”, Summer soloist in „Four Seasons”, Manu and Jampe soloist in „La Bayadere”.

Natalie has also modelled for Taylor-Ferne Morris Dance Photography and Eleve Dancewear.

You may not know:
Natalie loves to bake and to discover new ways of creating healthy recipes. Her favorite city is New York but she loves to travel and spend endless summer days at the beach. She is also an avid AFL follower. She played the flute and cello up until joining her first full time ballet school in Melbourne. Natalie was on the hockey team and cross-country team, as well as being a competitive diver.
