Introducing Ayaka Nagai
Born in Saitama, Japan, Ayaka commenced her ballet training at the age of 4 at the Acri Horimoto Ballet Academy in Japan. In 2007 she moved to England to attend the English National Ballet School, where she was invited to compete in prestigious competitions such as the „Prix de Lausanne” and the „NBA National Competition” where she won a scholarship for the Vienna State Opera Ballet.
After graduating in 2010 Ayaka worked with the English National Ballet in various productions after which she joined Sibiu Ballet Theatre, where she has been promoted to soloist artist, dancing many principal roles.
Career highlights include, Nikiya in „La Bayadere”, Odette/Odile in „Swan Lake”, Giselle in „Giselle”, Sugar Plum Fairy in „The Nutcracker”, Kitri in „Don Quixote”, Etoile in „Paquita”, Lisa in „La fille mal gardée”, Anna in „Anna Karenina”, and many more. Ayaka has toured with the company to Sicily, Milan, Paris, Luxembourg and in 2017 she was invited to perform in the prestigious Gala Union in Bucharest. In 2019, she got chosen to dance in gala in Japan which „Ballet Asteras 2019”. Ayaka was chosen to film for the Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 2 video which is watched by students and teachers all over the world.

Ayaka has a dog in Sibiu, his name is Luke. She loves shopping and playing with her dog. Ayaka also performed for a charity gala for the Eastern Japan earthquake disaster.
