Introducing Ellie Marie Hennequin
Born in High Wycombe, United Kingdom Ellie started ballet when she was only 2 years old and started training with Julie Overton and Annik Coatalen. Alongside locally training, she trained at Central School of Ballet as an associate, at Tring Park as a ballet associate, at London Senior Ballet and as a senior associate of the Royal Ballet School.
She has taken ballet exams from grade 5 to advanced 2 in RAD, and Intermediate and Advanced 1 in ISTD examinations. Before attending Elmhurst Ballet School, she was awarded the Baines Hewitt scholarship at the ISTD.
When she was 16 years old, she was accepted into Elmhurst Ballet School in association with Birmingham Royal Ballet. She was chosen multiple times to dance with the company – in Nutcracker (2017) and their first tour to the Royal Albert Hall and then Beauty and the Beast in February 2019 – touring to multiple venues around the UK. In her graduate year, she was also lucky enough to dance amazing repertoire such as the Balcony pas de deux from Romeo and Juliet by Sir Kenneth MacMillan, the White Swan in the pas de deux, and the soloist in Paquita. She has also worked with Wayne McGregor in ‘Entity’ which he rehearsed for the Elmhurst Ballet Company show. She has also danced the role of Aurora in the summer performance.
In October 2018 she was chosen to participate in the 6th Beijing International Ballet Competition for dance schools and dance festival. She was also a gala dancer in the ‘gala di danza jeunes promesses’ in Florence and danced alongside Alessio Carbone and Laetitia Pujol in April 2019. Furthermore, in the summer of 2019 before joining Teatrul de Balet Sibiu she was chosen from her school to take part in the performance with Japanese International Youth Ballet and danced the Balcony pas de deux, Paquita pas de trois and Mirlitons from the Nutcracker.
She joined Teatrul de Balet Sibiu in 2019.
