Introducing Gabriella Delgado

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, Gabriella started dancing at the age of 3 because her aunt was a professional ballet dancer, and she encouraged her parents to start her in ballet.

After training with Academia de Ballet Los Prados and Instituto Superior de Danza Alicia Alonso, Gabriella danced with the Michigan Classical Ballet Company, Ballet Nacional Dominicano, Ballet Concierto Dominicano and Gran Ballet de Cámara de Madrid after which joining Sibiu Ballet Theatre in 2015.

She was awarded a scholarship to the Academy of Ballet los Prados for eight years Vaganova Methodology under the direction of the principal dancers Pastora Delgado and Alejandra Dore. She has participated in the Summer Intensive Program in Geiger Ballet School 2003 and was awarded a Scholarship to Geiger Ballet School, Michigan, USA 2003. She was accepted to Michigan Classical Ballet Company, Participation in „Regional Dance America, Mid-States Festival” Cincinnati, Ohio; participant in the 1st International Ballet Festival in the Dominican Republic; 3rd place at the Biennial Competition 2008 Santiago de los Caballeros; chosen as National Youth Talent by the Dominican Ministry of Culture 2008 & 2009; has participated in Workshops with Margarita de Saa, Finis Jhung and Loipa Araujo. At the age of 18 she received a full 4-year scholarship to the Instituto de Danza Alicia Alonso (University Rey Juan Carlos, 2011) Madrid, Spain. She had the opportunity to work with Maria Cristina Alvararez, Martha Bosch, Martha Garcia, Orlando Salgado, and Oscar Torrado.
Career highlights include: Swanhilda in „Coppelia”, Clara and Sugar Plum Fairy in „The Nutcracker”, Spring Waters Pas de Deux, Kitri in „Don Quixote”, Acuarela choreography Alicia Alonso, Lisette in „La fille mal gardée”, „Le Corsaire” Pas de deux, Peasant Pas de Deux in „Giselle”, Pas de Trois in „Swan Lake”.
Gabriella has been invited to dance with the Ballet Concierto Dominicano, Ballet Nacional Dominicano, Festival between BND and Incolballet; invited to dance in the Festival Segovia Danza for 3 years; involved in the Summer Festival at Escorial, Spain; invited to participate in the International Dance Festival San Sebastian; invited to dance as Swanhilda of „Coppelia” in tour of Camara de Madrid. She has had the opportunity to dance throughout Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Romania, Dominican Republic, United States and South Korea.

Gabriella is married to another ballet dancer of Romanian origins. Her favorite place is next to the sea. She participated in a BBC documentary about Romania and she also was the image of a ballet technique book.
