Introducing Michaela Gobas
Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Michaela started ballet at the age of 7 and trained at Vancouver Junior Professional Division and Pro Arte Centre in Vancouver. She moved away from home to complete her ballet training at the Kirov Academy of Ballet of Washington DC.
Following her graduation, Michaela started her professional career with Canada’s Ballet Jörgen, performing corps de ballet and soloist roles in „The Sleeping Beauty”, „The Nutcracker”, „Swan Lake” and Robert Desrosier’s „Bouffonia”. She went on to perform with Ballet Ouest de Montreal in the company’s productions of „The Nutcracker”, as Sugar Plum and Snow Queen, Couples, and Cinderella, in the title role. In 2019 she danced for the Canadian Opera Company in their premiere of David McVicar’s „Rusalka” at the Four Seasons Centre in Toronto.
Michaela joined Teatrul de Balet Sibiu for the 2021/2022 season and is very much looking forward to the season.

When she isn’t dancing Michaela is working on a degree in Psychology. She also enjoys singing, playing the piano, and travelling.
